  Excerpt: In this scene, Gretchen learns that Kian has a secret dream to be a carriage driver on the island. She has a dream of her own and knows the power of them, so she is determined to help him achieve his goal. "It was a stupid dream. I should sell it, ta pay ya." Kian jerked the covering into place and turned away. "Nein. No." She followed him. "Dream is not stupid. Dream is good." She slowed down to hit the correct sound at the end. Just so he understood. He yanked pieces of oak from the pile near the door and dropped them into her pail. "I help you vith your dream." She pulled out the bigger pieces and returned them to the stack before tugging the handle from his grip. Selecting the right size for the cook stove, she filled her bucket. "You see." "Why?" He stared at the wood pile and huddled in his jacket. She didn't want to think too hard about the why. Instead, she clasped the pail to her chest and hustled for the door. He beat her there and pushed back the snow, so she could squeeze through the opening. Before she exited, he stayed her with a hand on her arm. "Why?" "Because I have the dreams, too. And you are helping to make them true." She ducked under his arm and walked into the cold. More than he knew. Maybe more than was safe for her heart. add to goodreads

Review & Giveaway: Doing It Over by Catherine Bybee

DOING IT OVER
Most Likely To Series, Book One
Montlake Romance, Contemporary
April 19, 2016, First Edition
Paperback & Kindle

One small town. Three close friends. True love to last a lifetime.

Voted Most Likely to Succeed, Melanie Bartlett ended up anything but. The down-on-her-luck single mom wants a complete do-over—is that too much to ask? With her family long gone from River Bend, strong, independent Mel is as surprised as anyone to end up in the quaint small town she once called home. But with her friends, Jo and Zoe, by her side, and a comfortable room at Miss Gina’s quirky bed-and-breakfast, she just might have turned the corner on a new life.

Wyatt Gibson never liked the big city. River Bend suits the ruggedly handsome builder just fine. Wyatt knows he’s home, even if that means being charmed by the appearance of Melanie and her spunky, adorable daughter. Is Wyatt’s calm devotion—even amid a coming storm—enough to convince Mel she may have found a home to call her own, a family that never leaves, and a true love to last a lifetime?

My Review

It 's a sweet and romantic novel, really exciting with many twists and a little mystery, set in a small and cozy town with really amazing characters.
When she left her town and her best friends, Melanie hoped to succeed. Instead, ten years later, she returns home as a defeat for the meeting of classmates. Single mother, without work and without money. River Bend is the better place to start over and to offer a better future to her daughter. Here she has a job and the support of her best friends. Another reason to stay is Wyatt, a charming man, sexy, kind and full of patient. Melanie was hurt and disappointed by men, it will not be easy to get into her heart.
Melanie is a strong woman, despite many difficulties she has never given up, is very brave: it's not easy to return to a city where everyone knows  her and is quick to judge her failure. Hope is a sweet and smart little girl. Very nice also Miss Gina, the owner of B & B that welcomes Melanie and her child as a loving aunt. I really loved the relationship between Jo, Melanie and Zoe: they are great friends, even if they had not seen for many years is like if they had always been together.
I'm really happy to know that it is the first book in a new series, I can not wait to read the next chapter.
This is a wonderfully written contemporary romance which I enjoyed very much. This was a truly engaging and delightful read with a good pace.
I definitely recommend this one.

My Review

I have  read the third book in this series, I liked it a lot and I couldn't wait to read another adventure of Zoe. This is even better than the previous one. It 's really exciting, full of suspense and tension, once you start it's hard to put it down.
Zoe and her colleagues always intervene in dangerous situations to help the sick and the wounded. But this time they are attacked. And it happens a second time. It can't be a coincidence. Paramedics are terrified, and each time they receive an emergency call are afraid to go. Pete, the police chief, is worried, afraid that Zoe can be hurted, he is very much in love with her. He must be thoroughly investigated to find the culprit before someone gets really hurt.
The characters are well developed and Zoe and Pete are a great couple. She is brave, loyal, generous but maybe too curious and often ends up in trouble. Pete is brave, loyal, honest, a great man of the law. He's  very protective of Zoe and tries to keep her out of trouble, very difficult task. I also loved the support and solidarity between Zoe and her colleagues: they are all willing to help each other and overcome together this anguishing moment without failing in their duty.
This book is very well written with a dramatic plot with twists and turns that were unexpected. This was a truly engaging and delightful read. The story had a good pace and a wonderful blend of romance, mystery and action.
I have no hesitation in recommending it highly.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My Review:
I really enjoyed this book. It 's a very compelling romance,  romantic with a wonderful love story but aso full of mystery, both characters have secrets to hide.
Tess needs to leave Florid and go away. She finds a job in a small island of Michigan. She is not prepared to find so bitterly cold. Fortunately tTo welcome her there is  her new landlord, Lukas. He tries to help her cover herself properly and lends her some clothes. Tess does not really need to fall in love but can not resist the attraction she feels for him. Tess and Lukas  have very painful secrets that threaten to ruin their relationship before it begins. Their love will be stronger than their secrets?
The plot is intriguing, well-developed and very realistic, with a fast and flowing pace, I read it all in one afternoon, I could not put it down. I really loved the setting, this remote island where in the winter the only connections  are the sleds and planes. A truly romantic atmosphere.
I can not wait to read the next book in this series, I'm really curious to learn more about the frat brothers of Lukas.
 I highly recommend this book!
EXCERPT:
“Can I help you?” Tess licked her spoonful of peanut butter, and Lukas coughed.
“Making sure you’re comfortable and everything is working okay.” He nodded to her gas fireplace. “That thing giving you any trouble?”
“Where’s Dio?” She peered around him. There were only his footprints in the snow though.
“I haven’t been to the house yet.” He shrugged. “I wanted to check on you.”
“I’m fine. Not such an empty-headed beach bum I can’t figure out how to turn on the heat.” She left him there at the door, figuring he knew how to shut it when he left. Grabbing a blanket, Tess curled up on the couch, boots and all.
Instead of taking the hint, Lukas invited himself in and pushed the door closed. He took off his coat and tossed it over a chair. Tess ate another spoonful of peanut butter as she watched him kneel down and check the fireplace. The view of his flannel shirt pulled tight across his shoulders was the best thing she’d seen in a while, and that irritated her more.
“I said it was fine,” she grumbled.
“Spoiling for a fight, huh? Must have been a bad day.” He didn’t even look at her. “Did you not like the kids?”
It took every ounce of discipline she had not to chuck her jar of peanut butter at his head. Not get along with the kids? He must not have gotten the memo from Doc that she was the best teacher to hit this island in the last decade. Then again, Doc kept that disgusting Chris employed. Doc’s expectations must not rise above warm bodies that stayed past September.
Review & Giveaway: Meddling With Murder by Ellie Campbell
Meddling With Murder
by Ellie Campbell
Genre – Cozy Mystery
Date of Release 9th April 2016
Number of Pages 300
Synopsis
Crouch End Confidential, the agency started by housewife and mother, Cathy O’Farrell, with ex-cleaner, Pimple is failing badly. Hardly surprising when Cathy’s too soft-hearted to charge their only clients, little old ladies seeking lost pets and a school kid searching for his stolen bike.
A new case involving a teenager in possession of an unexplained Glock pistol promises to change all that. Quickly Cathy’s deep in waters over her head, forced with hilarious results to pose as a mathematics tutor, a subject of which she’s truly clueless. There’s also the tricky situation of best friend and new mother Rosa hiring her to investigate her fiancé, Alec, plus the mysterious sabotage of Cathy’s friends’ cycle shop and a gang of yobbos dealing drugs at her children’s primary school.
Worst of all, an ill-fated trip to rural Norfolk has Cathy’s husband, Declan, intent on buying a post office and transplanting the family to safer climes, threatening to tear Cathy permanently from her beloved North London home.
Pretty soon Cathy’s risking her friendships, her marriage and even her life untangling all these messes. But that’s what you get for meddling in murder…
  My Review
It's a fast-paced mystery, full of humor with really amazing and funny characters. The storyline is very intriguing  with various mysteries to solve.
Cathy and her friend and former cleaning lady Pimple are trying to run their new business but the success is scarce. They have opened a kind of private detective agency but cases they face are just old ladies who have lost their dogs. Something seems to change when her friend asks her to investigate her husband and when they start to deal with strange theft of expensive bicycles. Cathy also has to juggle her life as a housewife and mother of two children and try to persuade her husband not to drag her to live in a remote country town and leave their beloved home in London.
The plot is well developed and flowing and keeps you glued to the pages. I have not read anything by these two sisters but I'm looking forward to reading something else soon, I like their style full of irony.
I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a riveting and full of humor story.
My Review:
It 's a so funny and exciting novel that is really hard to put it down. With well defined, charming characters, an engaging plot and well written story this is a fantastic story to get lost in. There are some surprises and twists that you are unsure what will happen when you turn to read the next page.
Sarah has become a strong and independent woman but she feels very lonely, without family and without a child to raise. Damen is  charming, handsome and mysterious.
I loved this book and once I started I could not put it down. It caused a late night and a very early morning to finish. It 'sa complete romance: there is much humor and scenes in which laughing out loud, there's romance and passion and there's also a touch of mystery.
If you are looking for a cute and funny book then you need to read this one.
EXCERPT
“Good morning, my lady?” Ravenhill’s playful rumble resounded around the garden.
Sarah’s finger flew to his lips. Even though she’d decided to choose proving her innocence over possible gossip, caution had been too well ingrained for her not to heed its call.
She towed him through the door and locked it behind them. The lantern she’d left to light their way glowed weakly in the narrow, rock-lined tunnel.
“Is this a secret entrance, my lady?”
She exhaled in exasperation, and whispered, “My staff’s ears could win prizes.”
Ravenhill removed his cap and hunched under the low, curved, rock ceiling. His muscular physique filled the confined space reminding her of the tight spaces they’d encountered in the rookery. How easy it would be for her to accidentally brush against him. “I prefer we not be discovered.”
Lantern light caught the glint in his eyes. A moment passed before his gaze moved beyond hers and into the tunnel.
He gestured with his cap. “I confess, I’m all aquiver to begin our search.” His drawled words sounded like veiled intimacies. He seemed in a mischievous mood… and so early in the morning.
“Mr. Ravenhill, please talk quietly. I fear our voices may carry.”
He dipped his head further. His warm breath tickled her ear. “Should I consider myself special… to be shown your secret entrance?”
Innuendo, coated with a healthy dose of charm, wove through the smile in his voice. Her insides started to flutter. Men had never flirted with her, and she didn’t know how to respond. Instead, she grasped the chain around her neck, grabbed the lantern and tripped down the passage. A door appeared on the right. Unlocking it, she lifted a tapestry and led him into a small chapel where she stepped to the altar and knelt.
“Do you pray for your past sins or your future ones, my lady?”
